About Us

The idea for Greener Travel started from a chance encounter and an invitation to visit a friend's lush tropical farm in Costa Rica. After visiting the farm and traveling to the magnificent and pristine coast, Ami Greener, an environmental entrepreneur, was inspired to invite others to experience this piece of paradise. By forming relationships with tour and adventure outfitters, Ami is able to provide travelers with highly detailed itineraries that allow them to enjoy an amazing vacation, leaving the planning and booking to him and his team. Since 2010 Greener Travel has organized many group and independent eco-tours to Costa Rica and has expanded to include other unique destinations, including Alaska, Maine, and Trinidad & Tobago.

We take the environment seriously. Greener Travel plans our trips in accordance with the guidelines of eco-tourism: minimizing environmental damage through low impact travel, supporting local environmental projects and indigenous communities, and learning about the culture and nature of the places visited.

Greener Travel was founded in 2010 by Ami Greener, an experienced and enthusiastic environmentalist who is captivated by the unique beauty of Costa Rica, the companies first destination. 

Ami has worked as an environmental educator and policy campaigner in Israel and the United States. He holds a M.S.C. in Environmental Policy from Waginengen University and a B.S. in Environmental Science from Hebrew University. He is currently based in Washington, DC.
